First ever live release recorded in studio at Dog House Recorders in Lafayette, CO

IGNATIUS REILLY has released our first ever live album TODAY!

“…In the Dog House” was recorded in June 2025 in one live session at Dog House Recording Studios in Lafayette, Colorado with engineers Kenny Vasko and Jason Quattrini, and also captured on video by Sophie Medvick. The final audio tracks were mixed and mastered by Ignatius Reilly bass player Mark Brut in his home studio.

The album features nine tracks and over 50 minutes of music from the band’s catalog, including two songs from the band’s 2024 release “Superstitions Fade,” three songs from the bands prior releases, and four songs that are staples of the band’s live shows but have never been previously recorded.

The first three songs of the album feature guitarist Eric Bullock on acoustic guitar, with the remaining six songs full electric.

Two of the previously unreleased tracks are done in the acoustic format – “Ghost Town” and “The Walker Song,” both sung by keyboardist Ethan Ice. “Ghost Town” was written by Ice and first appeared with his prior band the Sneaky Bastards. “Walker” was first performed with Ice and drummer Jeff “Birddog” Lane’s former band the Menagerie, and was written largely by drummer “Powercone” Pete Castleberry from that band.

The album also features two additional tracks written by outside writers. “Champagne and Adderall” is a hooky rocker written by Micah Gunn, who was a frequent collaborator of the band in their early days. “Shaken” is from drummer Lane’s prior band Grand Theft Maidcart formed with his former Outformation bandmates Grady Upchurch and Clark Keown. From Chattanooga, Tennessee, the band originally recorded the Keown original in 2013, and now features Mark Brut on vocals, marking his first lead vocal performance on an Ignatius Reilly album. It was previously sung live by the band’s former front man Brock Elam.

The album includes live versions of “Life on the Run,” “Chasing Your Tail” and “Gladys” from the band’s first two releases, all of which have become mainstays of the bands live shows, as well as “The Singer” and “Acadiana Contradance” from the band’s 2024 release “Superstitions Fade.”

“…In the Dog House” is a great snapshot of Ignatius Reilly’s live show and a showcase of the diverse songwriting of the band’s repertoire.

Second single from forthcoming album “Superstitions Fade.”

Ignatius Reilly releases “Acadiana Contradance”, the second single from their forthcoming album “Superstitions Fade.”

“Acadiana Contradance” was largely written by keyboardist Ethan Ice. The song was inspired in part with his interaction with Col. Bruce Hampton at a musicians retreat in upstate New York, which is referenced in the lyrics. Ethan describes the track as “just a song that doesn’t take itself too seriously about living life to the fullest, and the characters that you meet on the road that show you the light.”

The song has been a work in progress for quite some time and through different band projects, before finally being fully realized for the new Ignatius Reilly album. It draws on Ice’s influences in New Orleans styled music, and the title “Acadiana” references French Louisiana Cajun and Creole population.

“Acadiana Contradance” also features an outstanding guest vocal appearance by Brennan Kammerer, a rising star in the Denver and Fayetteville music communities.

This song is definitely a “get up and get dancing” number and sizzles with the trademark Ignatius sound venturing into some serious NOLA groove.

First single from forthcoming album “Superstitions Fade” fall 2024

IGNATIUS REILLY out of Denver, CO proudly announces the release of “SOJOURN” on Friday 9/20/2024 as the first single from their forthcoming album “SUPERSTITIONS FADE.”

“SOJOURN” was written as a collaboration between guitarist Eric Bullock and the band’s founding lead singer and rhythm guitarist, Brock Elam. Now residing in western North Carolina and no longer a permanent performing member of the band, Elam remains a frequent collaborator, and the band was honored to have him sing the lead vocal on this track that he co-wrote.

“SOJOURN” is a lyrical reflection on one’s journey through life, how sometimes your dreams don’t happen, but sometimes things work out better with things you didn’t think you wanted.

The full album “SUPERSTITIONS FADE” will be released in October 2024, featuring nearly 70 minutes of music, including 10 new originals and 2 additional cover songs.  The album was produced by Ignatius Reilly with engineer Ben Waligoske at Clubhouse Recorders in Golden, CO, and mastered by David Glasser in Boulder, CO.

Ignatius Reilly has been a mainstay of the Colorado music community for the past decade.  Drawing on many influences, the band plays honest and straightforward rock n’ roll that’s part alt-country, southern rock and psychedelia, mixed with blues rhythms and the sounds of New Orleans, creating a raucous electric boogie.
